Duncan McAfee

(b 1976United Kingdom. Lives and works in London)

Duncan McAfee is a visual artist, musician and teacher, working in a wide range of media and channels. Often working collaboratively, his work explores histories, identity and time, through pictures, songs and stories. McAfee is also one half of the overlapping collaborative practice, The Miller and McAfee Press, working with artist and printmaker Andrew Miller. He is additionally one of 12 artists working in the Loughborough Junction based studio collective Warrior Studios who founded and run the Warrior Press.

Recent image-based work has evolved through analogue collage techniques and sits in-between drawing, painting and collage, exploring the boundaries between these media. The resulting pictures play with the notions of meaning, narrative and decoration, with juxtaposed elements appearing to either coalesce or fragment, in a constant state of transition.
