Physical engagement and the meditative act of slowing down are important aspects of Heinz’s process as a photographer. His work seeks to counterbalance the fast pace of contemporary life.
Working primarily in his darkroom, Heinz prints his own photographs by hand. Taking the formal rigidity of the built environment as a starting point, he composes photographs that convey stillness and balance.
