Collection: Pablo de Laborde Lascaris

(b 1985, United Kingdom. Lives and works in Mexico City and London)

Laborde Lascaris merges his interests in engineering; architecture; artefacts and material processes. He enjoys the physical act of producing work; which moves him to experiment with a wide range of media and techniques. His sculptures and works on paper describe familiar objects or artefacts but leave certain essential information out. Movement; transience and instability are suggested in the forms through the use of wheels; curves; handles or unusual bases. He encourages his audience to question the function of these partially recognisable forms and explore the possibility of their mobility.
