Collection: Graham Lister

(b 1982, United Kingdom. Lives and works in Glasgow)

Lister's work encompasses gradual abstraction processes which allow him to better understand the visual codes and surfaces which are found in our surroundings and so often go unnoticed during our everyday lives. Recent exhibitions in Edinburgh; Manchester and Berlin have made use of large-scale painting installations to think about ways in which spaces can be controlled and altered through the creation of barrier-type works. In order to develop these temporary expanded paintings; he works through iterative processes on flat surfaces to explore how paint can be used to showcase woven; interlinked or rhythmic structures and patterns.
