Collection: David Kefford

(b 1972, United Kingdom. Lives and works in Cambridge)

Kefford is a multi-disciplinary artist whose practice is organised around a fluid process of continual ”˜cause and effect' improvisation and play. Through simple actions and performative gestures; he engages with everyday objects and materials. His sculptural work is mutable; temporal; uses un-monumental materials and is made with connection to his own body. He is interested in the intersection between the private making process and a public outcome; and how these can potentially coalesce through a ”˜live(d)' experience. Alongside his individual practice; Kefford works collectively as part of artist group Aid & Abet to create projects that make artistic processes visible and engage wider audiences in the ideas that fuel creative experimentation and cultural exploration.
