Brendon Erasmus's work focuses on painting primarily; with a diverse range of media from sculpture and installation to video and performance. Fascinated by the fragile nature of human existence; his work lightly pokes at the triviality of being while simultaneously drawing attention to our significance as individuals through the subtle act of making. Erasmus's neo-expressionistic works often include a combination of abstraction; figuration; portraiture; text; and punch-line humour aimed at everything from romanticised notions of love; death; pop culture; politics; technological advancements and the future.
