Keast is a painter and sculptor drawn to the unstable nature of visual imagery and its potential for continuous reinterpretation. His recent work explores a sense of being unmoored; as he works towards his own reconstruction of an indefinable origin. “Encouraging a tactile-based form of experience that emphasizes tension between texture and association; these works distil and condense the passage of time and impressions of space into seemingly familiar shapes and patterns.”
