Collection: Bijan Amini-Alavijeh

(b 1991, United Kingdom. Lives and works in Wakefield)

Amini-Alavijeh's artistic practice is an exploration of how things are made. He manipulates both manufactured and crude processes; looking at the mathematics of form; with a focus on structure; repetition and scale. Juxtaposition is important in his work. Photographic observation and architectural studies inform his repetitive; abstracted sculptural plaster and concrete forms; while painterly gestures demonstrate fluidity; movement and sensitivity. This fluidity sits in contrast with the more rigid materials he works with.
