Beth Shapeero

Shapeero works with sumptuous colour combinations and compositions of form and line; drawn from her daily observations. She moves between media and creative processes and has recently developed a collaborative practice with Fraser Taylor; with whom she shares a very particular aesthetic. “My practice sees me attempting to find coherence within overwhelming possibility. It's anchored in reductive; minimal abstraction; which allows me to make without being too definitive. It allows space for wonder; contemplation and strangeness. Without the need to explicitly mean something; the work can be playful and purposeful within itself.”
