Abi Box thinks of painting as a language - a form of translation or interpretation. She builds her work by piecing together questions; both how they are received and how they are answered. Box aims for her work to be both minimal and messy; saying; “good paintings are so often accidental; ignorantly brave and beautifully reckless.”
