Jess Holdengarde

(b 1991. )

Holdengarde’s multi-disciplinary practice considers time through the process of fragmentation and re-narration. She positions photography as a playful manipulation of time, space and place, creating fictional landscapes through the layering of digital and analogue processes. Seeking to present the inevitability and ontological uncertainty of time and being through her work, she resists the nostalgic connotations of the subject by focusing on the precarious nature of the present.
